Robber attack bank opposite Police Station through tunnel, do away with $500,000
In a heist reminiscent of a Hollywood motion picture, Kenyan burglars invested months incorporating a passage with the entrails of a bank situated inverse a police headquarters and stole likeness a large portion of a million dollars, police said on Tuesday.
Police said they had captured two men and one lady over the theft yet had not recouped the 50 million Kenyan shillings, detailed missing by staff at the branch of Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) on Monday when they appeared to work.
"We have not recouped the stolen cash," said Simba Willy, sub-region police officer in the town of Thika, upper east of Nairobi, where the heist occurred.
"We speculate the burglars employed one of the shops close to the bank (while burrowing their passage)," Willy said.
The criminals could evacuate the earth amid their months-long unearthings without stimulating doubt by covering it in boxes, the Daily Nation daily paper cited neighborhood dealers as saying.
