The Kaduna State Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology, Professor Andrew Nok is dead.
The state government in an announcement marked by the representative to the senator, Samuel Aruwan, said Professor Nok kicked the bucket at 55 years old, at his habitation in Kaduna on Tuesday, November 21, 2017.
Representative Nasir El-Rufai said the Professor Nok before his demise was, "outstanding amongst other this nation has delivered, and a standout amongst the most dedicated people to have served Kaduna State."
The Kaduna State representative said the late chief was a mainstay of his bureau, an able overseer who was proficient at completing things and committed to the advance of the state."
"Educator Nok was outstanding amongst other this nation has created, and a standout amongst the most dedicated people to have served Kaduna State. He was enduring, thorough and extremely fruitful in actualizing our undertaking to enhance Health and Education in the state. He will be woefully missed," El-Rufai said.
The late magistrate was an educator of Biochemistry at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.
Teacher Nok won the Alexander Humboldt prize in 2013 for his examination into finding a cure for trypanosomiasis. In 2009, he won the NLNG prize for recognizing the quality in charge of the compound which causes dozing affliction (trypanosomiasis). The Federal Government of Nigeria likewise regarded him with the Nigerian National Order of Merit (NNOM)
He was selected Commissioner for Health and Human Services by Governor El-Rufai in August 2015, and later redeployed to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in 2016.
